Important Updates from The Literary Book Club Box

First and foremost, I want to thank you for your support of The Literary Book Club! Bringing this club to life is truly a dream come true and I really enjoy connecting with you all on social media.

I'm writing to share some important updates to The Literary Book Club Box with you.

We knew that 2025 would throw us some curveballs, but unfortunately it has been worse than we expected. Due to the new administration's tariffs, increased inflation, and labor shortages due to high housing costs, we now have to make some changes to our subscription box in order to survive. We hope that we can implement these changes in a way that will be a good experience for everyone, with the benefits far outweighing the things we have to give up.

Here's what's changing:

  • We are transitioning from a quarterly box to a monthly box! This is actually a request that we've had from the beginning, and we are excited to be able to make this transition. Our team realized that, when you add in the one-time boxes, we were already offering 9-12 boxes a year anyway. These boxes will now get rolled into the new monthly subscription, so instead of offering separate seasonal and holiday boxes, our subscribers will automatically receive them as a part of their subscription. No more worrying that a box is going to sell out or having to set an alarm so you don't miss out on a box! Charges will now process on the 15th of the month before, and boxes will ship late in the following month. (The April box will charge on March 15th and will ship in late April.) The first monthly box will be the April box. If you're a current member, there is nothing you need to do. Your box will automatically roll over to the monthly box and you will receive your boxes without interruption.
  • We're bringing back the option to skip a box, and keeping your ability to easily cancel anytime. We want to make the subscription experience as flexible and user-friendly as we can. This change will take place in April for a May box shipment. You can cancel and skip right from your customer account when you login to our website, making it easier for you get the books you want and skip the ones you don't.
  • We are discontinuing our page numbered and wrapped gifts. Due to tariffs, our packaging costs have increased astronomically, so we are discontinuing our page numbered and wrapped gifts. You can still expect luxury gifts that are themed to complement the book, but they will no longer be wrapped. We will also be discontinuing our swag bag, art print and wax seals.
  • In order to make the monthly box more affordable, we will be lowering the box price to $64.99 plus $9.99 shipping. At this time, we will continue to provide our premium shipping insurance at no cost to you.

Here's what's not changing - our commitment to providing you with stunning editions of classic books. Beautiful classic books are our passion and we will continue to assist you in creating a gorgeous at-home library that you'll cherish for decades to come. We love our subscribers and are thrilled to help you foster your love of the classics. We are also doubling down on our commitment to supporting small businesses. Small businesses need more love now than ever, and we will do whatever we can to show some extra love to other businesses who are struggling to stay afloat by featuring them in our monthly boxes.

We're so excited to read even more books with you! I have a list a mile long of books that I've been wanting to include and, with the switch to a monthly box, I finally feel like I just may get through them all.

I couldn't end this email without a sneak peek of our next box!

It will feature this beautiful edition of Cranford by Elizabeth Gaskell. I am so excited to put together this cottagecore themed box and I know that our subscribers are going to love it as much as I do!

Thank you for choosing The Literary Book Club and for sticking with us through these difficult times. I hope that we can overcome these challenging times together and continue to bond over our love of the classics.
